Child custody dispute results in arrest of mother

On Behalf of | Mar 20, 2015 | Child Custody |

If divorcing parents are not able to reach a consensus regarding child custody issues, then a court may have to render a final decision. The court will always strongly consider the best interests of the child when attempting to work out custody details. Once the decision is rendered, it is incumbent upon both parents to adhere to the conditions handed down by the court.

Unfortunately, sometimes parents disagree with a court’s decision and choose to take matters into their own hands. Recently, a child who was the subject of a custody dispute was returned to the father. The child was found in the Houston area. Reportedly, the mother of the child was arrested as was another member of the family. Happily, the child was unharmed.

Such situations can be extremely traumatic for all involved. Children who find themselves in the middle of parental conflicts could come under great duress as they try to reconcile why two people they love are so angry at one another.

It is important for children to have a stable home life. Sometimes a divorce can make things complicated. This is why it is a good idea for divorcing parents to try to work together to find an amenable solution to custody conflicts and limit the damage caused by their disputes.

If you are in the process of divorcing, a Texas child custody attorney may be able to help you work toward creating an arrangement that is both satisfactory to you and in the best interests of your child.
