There are signs that a relationship is in jeopardy

When you are in a relationship that is not going well, it can be hard to tell if you are experiencing a temporary setback or if something more serious is happening. But while you might not be sure where your marriage or domestic partnership is headed, relationship experts say there are some signs that may indicate genuine trouble:

● The relationship lacks trust. Sexual or financial infidelity on behalf of one partner can cause the other such pain that trust becomes absent from the relationship.

● Emotional expression is stifled or non-existent. If a partner is not willing to invest emotionally, even by yelling in anger or crying, this is a sign that he or she has given up on the relationship.

● There is a lack of physical contact. Couples who feel intimately connected generally engage in touching. It bodes poorly for the relationship if one or both partners avoid physical interaction.

Another serious sign is if at least one of the partners simply does not want the relationship to continue. But regardless of the indicators, it can be difficult for a couple to disengage. This may be due to a fear of the unknown or harboring a desire for things to get back to the way they once were.

Ultimately, married couples must decide if they want to continue down the same road together. If it is decided that a parting of the ways is best, then there are a variety of legal issues that need to be worked out. Division of assets, child custody and child support are just some of these issues.

If you believe that it is time to end your marriage, you may wish to seek advice from a Texas divorce attorney. The services provided by an attorney can help protect your interests when dissolving a marriage.
